|Press Releases: Disaster Recovery Services|
THE Software Technology Parks of India, Bangalore, is planning to offer disaster recovery services (DRS) on the storage area network fabric to the software exporting community as part of its value-added offerings.
As a first step in this direction, STPI has tied up with Brocade Communications, wherein the latter would be setting up a SAN Lab on STPI premises in Bangalore.
In the second stage, STPI plans to conduct a feasibility study on offering large-scale DRS, which is expected to be completed over the next four months, said Mr B.V. Naidu, Director STPI-B.
Disaster recovery has become a critical requirement of the software export industry in the aftermath of September 11 incidents. The customers of our STPI member companies are increasingly demanding disaster recovery facilities. Many of the software companies are unable to create disaster recovery centres on their own. Hence DRS offered by STPI would become very critical to the growth of the business of our member companies,'' said Mr Naidu.
